Diigo - Putting on an Explorer's Eye

I must say that this was a first for me.  I never even thought of a network that would save bookmarks with added features.  Over time I'd have a flood of folders in my favorites with all the websites I would ever visit or anything that would be important for school or work.  It goes to show that there are many things yet to discover or tools to investigate that might make life easier; or perhaps just to keep things looking clean. For me however, if I'm going to organize, I prefer it to be simple.  I am sure in time, I might make use of a bookmarking site like Diigo.  Although, I probably will only need half the tools they provide.  Social bookmarking in general is probably better for people who hold a large quantity of websites that they visit daily.  It is less likely for people like me who only keep a handful of important sites in one place whereas the rest are stashed in a set of referencing folders which I only open when I need to.

  1. I agree, as I am not in need of mass storage of research or information. These tools are handy when needed of course, just not always what is needed. Was an interesting topic to look at for me.

  2. I'm with you fellas. Diigo certainly has it's benefits but maybe a bit more than I need as well. I suppose I could see it having it's benefits with team projects though. Or was that Wikis. It was one of the social bookmarking sites. We've got so much going on this class I've gotten dizzy. By the way, thanks for keeping an interesting blog going so I always had someone to respond to.

    1. Wiki is more of an informal text project than a social bookmarking. And yes I do think this is a relatively fast paced class. Luckily I am not hindered by a lot of travel time, so at least it's not so detrimental having to keep up. I'm glad I'm able to keep people entertained, if even slightly. Have you actually taken a look at what kind of people visit these blogs? You should take a look at your audience once. I could probably make a post just on the graphs of how many people visit using explorer or Firefox, or how many people use windows over macs.
