Let us Start
For starters, this will be the first time I have ever bothered to start a blog. For years I have only heard of the concepts of blogging or read blogs of others, but never got to make one myself. So consider this a novice's first attempt and will intriguingly learn as I go along with this. I cannot guarantee how interesting I can be while starting out; at least not yet. If nothing else, I may amuse you all, or perhaps, myself. I decided on a theme based on the technological world that has grown more involved with our lives; grown to the point that it is a perfectly solid communication system, not only with people close to us in every way shape or form, but with people beyond our reach. Online communication in itself has given a new meaning of social engineering. I look to combine experience with observation as I explore the technological world inside and out. And perhaps in this case, even document some of my thoughts on the matter.

Somehow the thought of socializing through a computer screen made me think of Bubble Boy - if you remember the child who had no natural defenses and had to live in a sterile room without any physical contact with other people. I wonder what ever became of him?
ReplyDeleteIt's been some time since I read anything on philosophy, but I can't help but recall that one time reading up on Socrates and my mind committed to an interpretation from his philosophy that goes: 'it doesn't matter how long you live or how much information you take in, it's better to act the fool then to drown in the ignorance of pride for you will never know everything; thus the joy of discovery.' Pride is stubborn. Stubbornness hinders learning. Learning is discovery.
DeleteTechnology has increasingly become a very LARGE part of our lives. Just think, years ago there was no way to attend school online yet here we are today. It's an amazing and scary world with how it advances.
ReplyDeleteIt makes you wonder 10 years from now how much further technology, heck-- online education, may become. I am sure 10 years before technology advanced to online socializing or online schooling no one had it in their minds how it was going to develop.
